Description

Join us for a very special evening to celebrate the completion of Hospice of Wake County's long road home. After four years of planning, fund-raising, and hard work, staff moved into the Susan P. Rouse Administrative and Community Services Building on November 9, 2009, and the first patients were admitted into the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring on January 21, 2010. Special guest for the evening will be John Grogan, author of the best-selling Marley & Me and the more recent memoir The Longest Trip Home, a book for any son or daughter who has sought to forge an identity at odds with their parents, and for every parent who has struggled to understand the values of their children. It is a book about mortality and grace, spirit and faith, and the powerful love of family. Just as Marley & Me was more than simply "a dog book," John Grogan's The Longest Trip Home is much, much more than your typical story of a boy's coming-of-age.
