How to Become a Volunteer

Requirements

  • Completion of application
  • Two written references
  • Criminal, motor vehicle and sexual predator background check
  • Signed Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Statement form
  • Valid Driver's License and auto liability insurance or picture ID
  • Completion of 18 hours of volunteer training
  • TB test or chest x-ray with negative results
  • Yearly evaluation and 12 hours of continuing education
  •  

    Complete the application and return it to the Manager of Volunteer Services at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

    Upon receipt of the completed application, you will be contacted to schedule a personal interview to discuss your interest in becoming a Hospice of Wake County volunteer. As  part of the application process you will be asked to provide personal references and to authorize a background check. After these steps have been completed, you will be invited to join the training class that is most convenient for you.
